Default Early 70's Pop Bingo

I have a greatest hits compilation of "current" pop songs, released in 1974 ("K-Teeeeeel!"). Pretty much all of the songs are from that general time period (most being from 1970-1973), though I can think of at least one that was from the late sixties. There are thirty songs in all. Guess away!

1. The Hollies - Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress (Ribbons)
2. Dr. Hook - Cover of the Rolling Stone (Plankton)
3. Gladys Knight and the Pips - I've Got to Use My Imagination (Pet_Sounds)
4. Chi Coltrane - Thunder and Lightning (Josef K)
5. The O'Jays - Backstabber (Josef K)
6. Brownsville Station - Smokin' in the Boy's Room (Pet_Sounds)
7. Albert Hammond - It Never Rains in Southern California (Neapolitan)
8. Elton John - Rocket Man (Pet_Sounds)
9. Tommy James and the Shondells - Mony Mony (Sir Buttlord, purveyor of cheats)
10. Maureen McGovern - The Morning After (Pet_Sounds)
11. Godspell - Day by Day (Chula Vista)
20. Clint Holmes - Playground in my Mind (Josef K)

Honorable Mention:

You're just jealous that The Batlord beat ya' to it.

Anyway, to be fair, you kinda had to know the band already to recognize the name. In the picture, it looks like it says "Timmyl Jamrlps and the SHKERJvrgjmroL"
