Is Everyone on MusicBanter At Least Just a Little Bit of an *******?

I feel like I'm kind of an ******* irl, but I'm not sure if that bleeds through on MB. Anyone else an *******? I need some validation.

I'm quite a bit friendlier in real life, but only on the outside. I still hate just about everybody, except I decide not to tell them.

The Batlord 03-02-2015 02:25 PM

Most people probably don't know how big of an ******* I really am, since I tend to be withdrawn with the vast majority of the world's population, but if you get to know me, then you'll wish you hadn't. Just like this site.

Isbjørn 03-02-2015 02:43 PM

I think I come off as a bit nicer online, since here I think twice before saying something that might come off as offensive. In real life I just say what I want, and take more "space" (but that varies on the setting). I try to be generally friendly, though, and I think I mostly succeed.

Key 03-02-2015 02:44 PM

Oh god yes.

Pet_Sounds 03-02-2015 02:46 PM

I'm pretty much the same online as IRL. You judge.

I'm about as friendly as I come off on here. Which is hopefully very.

WWWP 03-02-2015 04:23 PM

My internet personality matches my real one.

That is to say, I'm an *******.

Carpe Mortem 03-02-2015 04:29 PM

I'm basically Yoda, online and IRL. A somewhat demented Yoda, by most definitions, but a person very much removed from drama or giving a ****ness, and people have said they admire it.

Although I did troll Second Life the other day asking when our next quest was and where I could find a mage's shop. Harmless fun and staunch, optimistic nihilism, erryday.

Carpe Mortem 03-02-2015 04:30 PM

Anyways I think I'm nice. But apparently intimidating. I wouldn't hurt a fly, long as I wasn't stuck in a room with it.

You think twice before you say something on an anonymous forum but not in real life where there's actual consequences?

That's kind of...backwards

I know. What a ****ing *******.

Frownland 03-02-2015 04:52 PM

Personally, during a face to face discussion I don't say anything after thinking about it for a few minutes.

DwnWthVwls 03-02-2015 05:37 PM

I don't think I'm really ever an asshole irl or on here, but I do have the occasional dick comment.

It's quoted. I can't argue :(

I vary wildly between 'huge *******' and incredibly nice, almost too nice. I'm confused about my true nature.

Don't worry about it dude, you're generally a basic ******* so go with your instincts. I've got your back, brother. I find usually that I have to be a huge ******* just to deal with all the dicks out there at the same time.

Goofle 03-02-2015 06:39 PM

I'm normally quite nice but this weekend I got so p*ssed that I forgot real life was real life and started shouting at the people I hopped in a taxi with for no apparent reason. I am pretty sure I told them to leave the taxi before they got to their houses too. I don't even understand what happened.

Black Francis 03-02-2015 06:44 PM

I came to this site to learn how to be an *******

This is the only site ive ever used that has forced me to be one just to get by..

Justthefacts 03-02-2015 06:51 PM

Let's see, I'm not normally nice to a lot of people, my ego seems to inflate bigger each day, I'm selfish, and my taste in music is better than anyone's on here.

So yeah, I'm a douche.

Really? Must be just in real life, cause I've never seen you act like a dick on here. Maybe you get a bit heated when something offends you, but you never get in prolonged snit fits or use abusive language.

It's rather disappointing honestly. Do I need to talk **** about any of your dead relatives to get you to come off like an *******?

I try to be nice and respectful to everyone on the internet and in real life. I dislike confrontation and usually keep to myself to a large extent in both worlds.

I was a nightmarish little ******* when I was younger though. Seriously.

Janszoon 03-02-2015 09:44 PM

I'd say I'm not afraid to be an asshole when it's called for, but generally I'm pretty friendly.

I think people tend to hold on to what you post on the internet a little longer than irl, esp. forums cause it's always kinda there. As an example if you bumped someone on the street and you aggressively said "watch it buddy" there might some tension between both involved but after a while it'll wear off. But on the internet if somebody says something and you retort, it could go either way, it could be ignored, or maybe the other person could be offended. If there's hostility in the exchange tension kinda lingers. And the conversation is never between two people, cause it's an open forum, other people can join in & start throwing in their opinions and etc, and it can snowball. Even something that is benign is open to a dozen ways of interpretation, and there could be one person take it to task and make an issue out of it. Plus someone can quote or bring it you a year later cause it's always kinda there. It's like if you say something on a forum, you are always saying it, cause the post is always there.

Apples and oranges. You have to type things out proof read then hit the send button, there is a little more time to reconsider what you are saying to another person.

Isbjørn 03-02-2015 11:33 PM

Ja, pretty much what Neo said.

Surell 03-02-2015 11:44 PM

me irl

Mondo Bungle 03-03-2015 01:41 AM

Surell 03-03-2015 01:56 AM

i mean i think you're onto something but does it have staying power?

OT i'm with WD but i think i am sans lovable if we're gonna keep it really real

Mondo Bungle 03-03-2015 01:58 AM

I'm a big music snob and it just gets worse the better I know you

It's reverse in the ******* department I guess.

nah I'm a huge *******. Because everyone's posin like they hard

Pet_Sounds 03-03-2015 05:15 AM

 Surell has changed his avatar. Therefore, he is an *******.

I tend to be really nice to strangers and an ******* to my friends. I'm gonna have to step it up on here.
If you started talking **** about my dead relatives, I'd probably join in. That **** is hilarious. In fact my truly despicable sense of humour is the source of most people's negative opinions on me. I gravitate towards the sickest people I can find. My friends and I like to pretend we're all 'fetusphiles' and regularly joke about ****ing fetuses and then killing and eating them. I like to do a three bird roast type deal with my fetuses, where I stuff three fetuses of varying sizes inside of eachother with some sage and onion stuffing.

Trollheart 03-03-2015 05:53 AM

Not me. I'm sickeningly nice.
And anyone who says otherwise can kiss my arse! :ar_15s:

Plankton 03-03-2015 07:40 AM

I'm not an *******, I'm more of a jagoff of the garden ****tard variety, and if anyone says different, you can take your stupid ****ing opinion and stick it UP your *******.

Seriously. One of the most intelligent posts I've read in all my time here. Totally nails down the concept of, and explanation for behaviour on, forums like this.
