Both my parents are still alive and calling me every day to make sure I'm alive. I have one grandparent left whom I cling to like the last remaining relic of my family. She's amazing. My grandmother on my father's side died a couple years ago. She was an alcoholic for pretty much my whole life so I wasn't close with her. She was an alcoholic because my grandfather died when my dad was 13 and she never really could get over it. My grandfather on my mothers side died a year ago. He was the first major death in my family. I miss him all the time and it still hasn't really sunk in that he's gone forever. I still feel he's on vacation. He was the best.
