Speakers, hands down. Earphones don't detract from my satisfaction, but I only use them in situations where I'm obviously not at home.

Animals can be observed as "playful" at times. Maybe a bit trollish to each other. Humans contain a sense of humor, which in the animal kingdom seems completely useless and serves no function toward the aspect of survival.
