But whatever: think what you like. I'm not here to fight. If you want to consider me someone who gets upset easily, fair enough but bear in mind that the things I get upset over are usually things that matter to me and do get on my nerves. Also, this is the Bitch Box isn't it? Woops! No it isn't. Well anyway.
Let's meet!

I'm sorry I used nasty words like 'ridiculous'. I feel my anger at you for calling me and my peers stupid is more justified than 'bawww why do you all hate my thread?'.

Also agree with James, dumb people aren't something that is exclusive to this generation even if you'd like to think so.
Literally ages, I mean a lot of the shyt said about Caligula was basically celebrity gossip

Accepted. I'm an old man. I rant easily. Please accept my apologies for lumping you all together (although I do not know your age and was not singling you out). I'm sure there are a large percentage of you that are not that way; it just gets on my nerves when I think of the knowledge we had to consume in school, and which has stayed with me my whole life. So far. Please don't set your dragon on me...

Mind you, I'm not sure about the second part of your quote. I have made that complaint before but I don't think I have done so in this thread, which most people I think are happy with. Seems to be going ok, other than the odd bump along the way...

In the year 2000 Facebook will become known as Facepalmbook.

^Nice pun. My teacher meant the social platform is called: book a face.
At some point he's right, people all look the same, but there are always exceptions ofc.

What makes me feel old is that the TV shows I watched as a kid aren't even available anymore.
I remember using audio cassette and VHS and I was so proud of my Walkman.
Oh, and the fact that my 2008 phone is seen as trash, especially by 6-year-olds that own a smartphone.

^ I totally ripped off Conan O'Brien, which makes me feel old come to think about it.

You didn't even rip him off right. In the year 2000, Facebook wasn't created yet and if the joke is supposed to mean 3000. Facebook will be long dead and gone in place of something more convenient.

Or we'll develop into telepathic humans without the need for language.

Being telepathic will bring a whole meaning to "he has hang ups."

I'm not trying to romanticise the past but in twenty-odd years I have seen such a slide in the standards of both spelling and grammar, as well as a shocking lack of historical knowledge or even interest, adn you can't tell me that it's just coincidence that the rise of Facebook, Twitter et al has been happening at the same time?
Not trying to fight. Not trying to romanticize the past, yet that's what you're doing.

Presuming that social media is for stupid young people is highly ignorant. If you cared to use it, you'd know that the brightest people share their knowledge there (and know how to spell ). It's akin to paying attention in class. Guaranteed, you'd be privy to a lot more information than your grade school education in the 1970s provided.

And you dare to criticize the internet? You think it has a stranglehold on people? Um, isn't the internet the ONLY WAY you have to communicate with the outside world? Isn't it what makes you feel special?

Please stop making age 50 look like age 80. You know better.
