Rule 9
Never use an apostrophe with possessive pronouns: his, hers, its, theirs, ours, yours, whose. They already show possession so they do not require an apostrophe.

Correct:
This book is hers, not yours.

Incorrect:
Sincerely your's.

This is why it's so hard to make a distinction between yours, as in , belonging to one person, and yours, belonging to a group. Hilariously, over here in backward Ireland we often use the made-up word "yizzers" --- it's like a combination of yours and youse, another made up word. We also use "yeer", which is like "ye" and, well, some form of yours. Never quite understood that one...

No, yours applies in its own form as a possessive whatever, I'm not really that up on the definitions. I've never seen any case where an apostrophe is used with it, even after the s.

Hey, I like you guys, and Imma let you finish, but...

WHY in God's name are we discussing grammar here?

You know a discussion of grammar is actually 99% pointless right??
It's not about what is actually written as much as it is what the author INTENDS to convey!

Someone should pick a new topic to debate.

They are discussing grammar because they don't want to get poor grades on their next English exam.

Vs.

Mexican food

The Italians have some superior cheeses, but otherwise Italian food is overrated. I'll Mexican food with a side of food poisoning, thank you very much.
