Also, Star Wars.

40's(F) today, and it feels like a heatwave in comparison to what we've had over the last couple months.

Then more snow tonight.

Sure, why not.

Thanks Obama.

What's wrong with you people? Lord of the Rings is obviously superior, you get 8 endings for the price of one.

Totally Star Wars. I loved the LOTR movies, but they're exhausting to watch. Hence why I've only watched them a few times or just the once whereas I have no idea how many times I've watched the original Star Wars trilogy. They're part of my DNA at this point.

Star Wars > The Empire Strikes Back >>> Return Of The Jedi >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Anying after and including The Phantom Menace

Are you talking about all six movies? Because if so SW loses points for ****ing up a perfectly great trilogy with two-and-a-half crappy "prequels" (I liked "Revenge of the Sith" but doubt I'd watch it twice). LOTR never puts a foot wrong, and as you decreed the Hobbit movies can't be included then it's almost infinitisemally unlikely that there'll ever be more LOTR movies, therefore it's a perfect trilogy and wins easily for me.

Though I like both. But LOTR got me into fantasy novels, and has wizards elves and dwarves. I guess you could say the same about Star Wars (Obi-Wan/C3PO/R2D2 in that order) but only if you're really sad. ;)

I don't see it. The Silmarillion is a very heavy book, mostly a history of Middle Earth. There's not too much real action in it and the main characters from LOTR aren't in it, not even Bilbo. I feel it would be very hard to film, though of course if there's enough money put forward anything can be done. I'm sure they'll call it something like "Before the Ring" or something: who's going to go to a movie called "The Silmarillion"?
