Everyone assumes you are the species you are.

No one laughs when you try to live as your species and laughs when you try to live human.

You feel like society is basically made for people like you.

No one stereotypes your species.

No one treats the name of your species as an insult.

No one treats your species as “less”, in fact, you are treated as the “highest” species that is known on this planet by most religions and secular theories.

You can get counselling and be honest about the major core of your identity.

You are included when people talk about “the human race”.

“Human” is not based out of genetic descent. By declaring that everyone who is born with the same DNA type as yourself, you are erasing otherkin and therian identities.

Your core identity is not referred to as a mental illness or a joke.

When you describe another race than your own based on what you have learned about in movies, you are stereotyping and it can be very hurtful.

You have the privilege to decide what creatures are “worthy” of being saved, while the rest are just commodities meant to amuse you.

You have the privilege of “creating myths” and not being harmed by them.

“We’re all human” is exclusionary. You are excluding those who are not human and saying that the person who made a mistake is not able to be forgiven based on who they are.

You have the ability to not know or care about the difference between an otherkin and a therian.

You can label others as you see fit, because you feel being intelligent makes things “human” and that only humans can label things.

Discrimination against your species doesn’t exist.

It is assumed that you do not exist simply to serve a “higher” life form.

Stories about you are not automatically deemed “children’s stories”.
