I prefer the culture to the sport these days if I'm honest though. England are shit and Villa are shit so that sucks a lot of enjoyment out, there is only so long I can watch my teams getting battered. Sorry for bringing this discussion back btw  |

It definitely feels like a sport that's easier to get into than one that has an entire globe of 12,000 years of history.

Holy **** I want to hear elph announce a baseball game.

you're dumbing down the entire sport of European football and then exaggerating the strategy in american football. for me a good match of euro football is like a game of chess. the whole team moves together and shifts allowing the better team to retain possession and make quick, short, accurate passes. it's like me sitting here and saying yeah american football is just hail marys down the field until the other team gets an interception. |
dude you watch esports dont step to me about sports sucking

Bruh, seriously, tennis is the best sport. It's the closest sports will ever come to a true clash of physical skill between two gladiators. Novak Djokovic is a monster of a human being, Rapha Nadal is a cyborg, Andy Murray is a Hogwarts student, and I don't even know what Federer is.

Some of my most enjoyable sporting moments were in tennis. Emotional when Murray won Wimbledon the first time. |

But definitely the most fun I've ever had watching tennis was Djokovic during his first winning streak. OMG he was insane. Possibly the greatest shot I've ever seen was when Federer served him this insane serve and Djokovic just reacted like a cheetah and sent this completely impossible return that instantly ended the game. The mother****er is Spider-Man with his speed, strength, and flexibility I swear. @1:12 if you want to see Djokovic send a shot between the net and the official stand. Basically an impossible shot if you're not a Greek God. |

Did you see the US Open final, 2012 I think it was? Murray's first slam. Quote:
Name any other one you want and it's that repeated several times over. |

Here in Adelaide there are only two sports that anyone cares about - cricket and Australian rules football. Both are boring as bat**** to me.
|
Of all the sports with big followings that are played around the world, cricket is probably the worst.
Boring doesn't even begin to describe it. I've even been to Edgbaston and watched cricket live and it was one of the worst school trips I've been on. Back to American things though, I like the stadiums where you can get a view of the skyline from inside the ground. Seattle Sounders/Seahawks: http://www.camatic.com/Images/Projec...Stadium-01.jpg Minnesota Vikings: http://prod.static.vikings.clubs.nfl...2817-thumb.jpg The Vikings stadium looks fantastic. Inside it is an nice mosaic. |
Whoa thats a huge stadium. Well done murica.

lol that's amazing, they just copied the hockey formula.
i remember when i first started getting into footy i bought FIFA 04 (think it was 04, the one with Henry, Dinho, and Del Piero on the cover) and the first time a game went into penalties i was so confused  |

Second from bottom pic is absolutely ridiculous.

I always though it interesting that the US is one of two countries (unless the Phillipines has changed things) that requires its citizens to file income tax even if they live abroad and work in another country. And even if you give up your American citizenship, you still have to pay them for a few years after. Even if you were only a green card holder, same rules apply. It is the only country that I know of that forces its citizens living abroad to declare all their bank accounts to the Treasury dept. every year. But I guess Trump has to find some way to finance his wall...

If you're embarrassed by America then you need to fill the hole in your soul with more hamburgers.

I don't get why some places make burgers that high, you can't eat it without taking it apart in layers so why do it? Sometimes when I get just a normal burger and chips the burger is stacked too high and you need to flatten it down. What they should do is make them plate sized (or table sized for the Americans), still a large burger but one you can actually eat. There might be an issue with holding it because of the texture of the bun, it might flop around. Serve with a pizza cutter imo. |

This is more like it. I'd buy a 16 inch burger. |

I'd eat it.
Do you make it yourself or buy it somewhere? |
Sometimes I feel bad about grumbling so often about events in the US, so I thought I'd mention here a particularly American story demonstrating the power of modest individual courage: Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Protest.
And here's a pic taken fifty-eight years later, of a black US President sitting in Rosa's seat. So that's symbolic of another story which, despite some ups and downs, has had its feel-good moments too. It makes quite a moving photo imo. http://www.lonelyconservative.com/wp...-Parks-Bus.jpg |
