I'm using the same arrogant argument that Fluffy is using to prove a point. He's saying that just because the rest of the world doesn't like American football it's not great.

Again, you know nothing about football and its history. I don't go to matches or drink, but I love it. It can be enjoyed without being drunk. The unpredictability of say a tiny team unexpectedly beating a world class one can't be overstated. It's a game in which anything can happen. Now, given that, I know next to nothing about American Football, and it's possible unexpected things can happen in the games of course, but it does seem to be almost choreographed to the nth degree, removing a lot of the spontanaeity from it you get from football here.

How can you say that the spontanaeity is removed from it when you say that you know next to nothing about American Football? The statement alone about it being choreographed proves that you don't know anything about American Football.

Yeah it is big in Canada to be fair. Still North America though.

It's not the same argument. If us Brits were the only ones playing/watching football then it would be. The rest of the world loves the sport. Other than Americans.

Yeah I was talking the basics. But every sport has nuances and strategies and I dont think American football is any more complicated than say hockey or European football.

In terms of randomness or unpredictability American football is towards the bottom of any sport.

I guess it is, if you can get through the pointless statistics jargon. Here's just a few of the stunners 'Fumbles Lost' 'Rushing Touchdowns' and the best of them all 'Sacked Yards Lost'

NFL Statistics Glossary - NFL - ESPN

Now where did I put my Chinese dictionary.............

It is the same argument. You are saying because the rest of the world loves the sport then it most be better. It's the same arrogance regardless.

To be honest ice hockey is the least American sport there, as it is huge in some European countries like Russia, Czech Republic, Sweden and Finland all come to mind.

The English Premier League is full of international players. It's an English league. If you win, you're the champions of England (technically Wales too since Swansea & Cardiff play in it).

If it was a true 'World Series' you should have the countries of the world play each other. But nobody gives enough of a fuck about baseball to field a team other than Americans

Oh. That's what it is--your little feelings are hurt. Didn't you just say nobody in your lousy country gives a good goddamn about American baseball? Yes, you did. So why do you care what American baseball calls its championship series? Be a man and humor our little imperialist indulgence instead of crying like a tree-hugging pantywaisted liberal.
