Well, reasons 1 & 2 are bizarre guilt by association nonsense along the lines of: football can be enjoyed by everyone, therefor only the lowest common denominator enjoy it, and those who do not enjoy are consequently above average individuals.

I've watched every Superbowl since the Patriots/Packers game back before they had Bradey and Favre walked all over them. The drama and the commercials are actually compelling. But trying to keep up with the rest of the season is awful.

I hated football cuz my city is represented by the Lions. Then I won $600 in a fantasy football superbowl a couple of years back. Now I love it!
