I don't think we are talking about playing it.

What do baseball teams do? Oh, Cincinnati is better than New York? Boston can kick Minneapolis's arse? You're still all American! Quality post.

Highlighted bit made me do a lol.

It really is stupid to be honest. La Liga, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A & our Premier League are all multinational, if Barça or Aston Villa win their respective leagues are they now world champions, because there are several nationalities in their squad?

It's all a bit :o:.

Na I wouldn't. I've never done it. It's too slow. Hours and hours of coverage for that one second you strike the ball.

Try kicking a ball from 25 yards out into the goal at pace, controlling it in the air etc.

Just saying. You really think pushing a puck around on ice with a stick comes more naturally than kicking a ball around on land? Yea you can learn to play hockey at a mediocre level pretty quick just like I used to play soccer when I was in 4th grade.

Well, like I said, I agree that the name of the World Series is silly.

Pushing a puck with your hands yeah. It's not that hard to learn to skate. It's like learning to swim tbh.

Cristiano Ronaldo ~ Skills in HD vs Arsenal - YouTube

Far more skill in football.

It's not that hard to learn to swim but water polo is still harder for the fact that it's played in the water.

As for 216, why do you think I'm validating your argument? I'm not; I'm destroying it. You can't have a "world series" if the world is not involved. Think there's a world series of curling? Or eskimo fish-catching? Or Peruvian jungle snake-throwing championships? Jeez man: listen to the logic willya? Football isn't even that arrogant: the Premiership is seen and acknowledged as the best league in the world, but it has La Liga (Spain) Bundeslige (Germany) Seria A (Italy) and others to measure itself against. And even then, English footballers, though there may be some of them that are the best in the world, do not all consider themselves so. We all know Messi Ronaldo et al are usually better than most of what England can produce. Not to mention, English teams who claim to be the best in the world (Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool etc) all test themselves by going up against non-English clubs and usually failing, but at least they're providing a measurement of their skill by comparing it to like. the structure of the leagues are much different. theres a massive talent gap between major league baseball and any other league. there is no legit challenger. like i said it doesnt bother me if there is a world series of curling or whatever example yu wanna use. if all of the worlds best players play in that league and its head and shoulders above any other league, then so be it

Still not getting it. You can't call them the world's best players when they're all from the one country and only that one plays the game at any sort of top level. Do US teams ever take on any outside --- and by outside I mean outside the USA --- competition? If not, then you're not the world's best, just America's best. Big difference. But you seem blinkered and will not see it. Fine. I can't spell it out any more clearly than this:

The world (noun): Our planet, made up of various landmasses, on which are separate countries. Between these landmasses are seas, oceans etc.

America (United States of) (noun): One landmass, one of the largest in the World (see above)

Maybe Big Bird can explain it. Imagine the big bowl as American football (or America) and the others as "European" football, or even just the rest of the world...

appreciate the sarcasm lol

there is the world baseball classic which is a tournament between countries. but its kinda pointless and not really cared about here lol.

for the bolded part i think if they are americas best then by default they are the worlds best. it would make no sense to go play the japanese league or somethin like that cause nobody is arguin anyone is better than the baseball played here
