Yes on golf. No comment on cricket. I haven't watched enough of it.

Cricket is fucking shit. Everyone I know who likes it is a boring bastard as well.

Golf is good to play and I like the clothes. Very smart.

Might not even consider it a sport at all.

I think cycling has become slightly more popular since Wiggins I'd imagine.
Exactly it's best known for the general public here in the UK for Armstrong and doping, to be fair its nigh on impossible to erase doping from the sport, due to the demands on the body.

Well with both Wiggins and Froome being the first two British winners of the TDF, the sport is at its height of popularity here in the UK, but will only achieve this level of popularity as long as British riders continue to do well.

and i wouldnt have a prob with it. i think youre actually makin points in my favor with sayin its not played anywhere else. all the more reason to call it a world series. im not really makin that argument cause if we are talkin about baseball, its played in plenty of countries.

Obviously some of us have a different definition of what the word 'world' means. For most beings that inhabit the human form, that normally means encompassing as many countries as possible in the world. For example the world cup and the world championships etc are perfect examples of this.

I agree that it's silly that the World Series uses the word "world" (though Canada is involved it so it's not quite as bad as it would be if it were 100% US), but you're mistaken about baseball being played nowhere else in the world. In addition to the US and Canada, it's also fairly popular in many Latin American countries, in the Caribbean, and in Japan.

Just think if they were invited to the 'world series' then you'd have a valid world series.

What a strange thread. You can't accurately judge whether a person is boring or not based on what sports they do and don't enjoy. To claim that everyone who likes American football is boring is, well, it's nuts. One would have to meet every fan of American football to reach anything approaching a realistic conclusion, and even then it would still remain nowt but a subjective opinion. And it's the same with cricket, if everyone who likes cricket is dull then does that mean almost everyone in India, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, etc. is dull? It's an absurd proposition.

Personally, I find American football incredibly tedious, but is that because it is tedious or is it because I'm blind to it's qualities? Who knows. And who cares. If people enjoy the sport, good for them.

Yeah I know Jansz. I just meant it's mainly played in the US and even if it's popular in those countries that still doesn't qualify the US players being seen as the best in the world. They're the best in America, and that's it. World Series me arse!

As for 216, why do you think I'm validating your argument? I'm not; I'm destroying it. You can't have a "world series" if the world is not involved. Think there's a world series of curling? Or eskimo fish-catching? Or Peruvian jungle snake-throwing championships? Jeez man: listen to the logic willya? Football isn't even that arrogant: the Premiership is seen and acknowledged as the best league in the world, but it has La Liga (Spain) Bundeslige (Germany) Seria A (Italy) and others to measure itself against. And even then, English footballers, though there may be some of them that are the best in the world, do not all consider themselves so. We all know Messi Ronaldo et al are usually better than most of what England can produce. Not to mention, English teams who claim to be the best in the world (Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool etc) all test themselves by going up against non-English clubs and usually failing, but at least they're providing a measurement of their skill by comparing it to like. What do baseball teams do? Oh, Cincinnati is better than New York? Boston can kick Minneapolis's arse? You're still all American! And if you don't have any team outside of America to test yourselves against, you cannot claim to be or have the best players in the world, just in the USA. QED.
