G.A.S. originally known as Guitar Acquisition Syndrome characterized by an uncontrollable and sudden impulse to acquire a new guitar. Over the years it expanded it pathological territory to cover other symptoms like amp collecting, hoarding guitar pedals and unnecessarily accumulating guitar related paraphernalia in general. Since it's expanded definition G.A.S. is generally known to stand for Gear Acquisition Syndrome.
