Every person I've ever met who identifies as one or the other doesn't know shit about the animal that they claim to dislike aside from their pre-conceived notions, prejudices, and isolated experiences.
Dog People and/or Cat People = People who don't actually love animals. They only have love for pets that have happened to make them feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Owned both a dog and a cat, don't think I'd own a dog again. I like the independence cats have. Dogs are easier to boss around though.
If I had to own a dog, it'd be either a greyhound, a lab or a staff. |

I like the fact that I'm my dogs master. It makes me feel like we have a really strong bond, something I've never had with any other animal.
I do like cats though but I've always said I will be the crazy dog lady when I'm older haha.

I think cats have qualities inherently more appealing to some types of people than others. I like dogs, but I don't love them and I've never had one. I will say that they strike me as very needy companions. That's totally fine, it translates into loyalty for many people, but I like the aloofness of the cat. I like their independence, and the fact that they take a little effort for so much reward.
