General Knowledge Quiz
I love quizzes, so what about this? You can pose any question, on any subject at all, as long as you answer the previous question both correctly and first. Simple, eh?
Here's an easy one to start off with: name the famous, or infamous novel written by Machiaevelli (sp?) which gives the author's name to the practice of believing that the end justifies the means? Whoever answers that correctly, and first, can pose the next question, and so on. |
Good thread idea :)
EDIT - I have removed my guess as I'm sure it's wrong. EDIT x 2: The Art of War was my guess btw. |
The Prince.
I just finished reading it for a class and writing a paper on it. Do I ask a question now or how does this work? |

How many chromosomes are in the human body? |
Quote:
|
Nah man, 23 pairs. 46 chromosomes.
|
Trollheart can you pliz explain how this works exactly because I dont really understand.
|
No.
Seriously? It's as simple as a very simple thing. Whoever gets the answer to the last question right gets to set the next question. It can be on any subject. If two or more people guess right, the one to get their answer in first gets the opportunity to set the next question. I really don't see how you can't understand that... |

That's it yup.
To be fair, in case someone answers correctly and then effs off and leaves us all hanging --- or can't get back here for whatever reason --- if there's not a new question within, let's say three hours, someone else can post the next question. It's really not that important who puts questions up, more important to keep this going so people don't get bored waiting. Sound fair? So time has already run out for KHfreek: anyone who wishes to post a question knock yerselves out! :) |

What are the names of the French islands located off the coast of Newfoundland? |

Am I missing the point here, but can't we just cheat and google the answer if we don't know it? Or are we trusting that everybody doesn't cheat and uses their brain?
BTW I can't think of the name of those islands, but what I do remember is that one of the classic Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes films of the 1940s took place on one of those French islands, or in fact it could've been the mainland:) |
As in just about everything on the net, US, you can cheat. If you want to. But I'd hope people don't as that spoils the fun. Either way I don't really care, because the point of the thread is to keep the questions flying, and if someone can only get the answer by cheating, well all I can say is I'm not Jeremy Paxman, so cheat away.
Personally though, if I don't know it I won't look it up. I like my answers to be honest and from my own knowledge. That said, I don't know those islands --- not great with geography. |
