I do as well, even if it makes no sense. No other animal I can think of of the top of my head is self conscious in the way we are. Is there a biological explanation for this out of interest?

It's because we are just used to clothes. We aren't used to seeing certain parts of other people and vice versa. It's not just clothes, too. I've had a goatee for about 7 years now, but every once in a while I shave it off to let my chin breath. Every time I do I feel like my chin is naked and everyone is staring at it.

Now, I don't know if this is true since I haven't bothered to look for any research done on this, but I do think animals feel embarrassed, too. I'm basing this purely off of my own pets...I've shaved my long haired cat before (because he was getting really hot and overheating in the Summer...not because I wanted to be a dick) and I swear he acted really embarrassed about it.

This is a very interesting idea, so presumably the idea of humans feeling indecent without clothes is really due to noticing their absence - but were clothes only originally worn for the purposes of keeping warm, or compensating for the lack of hair?

I would think so, yeah. The idea of shame and what not only came about with religion. Tribal societies seem perfectly content letting all their junk hang out, but tribes in arctic climates tend to wrap up...for obvious reasons.

Yes, anyone postulating the idea that there's some moral reason behind it (such as that we've sinned and therefore feel shame) probably forget that there are many people groups who seem not to show this at all.

What do you mean by "running" going for a jog or having diarrhea?

Anyway...What did you do to get ban? Are you allowed to talk about it? Do you feel rehabilitated?
