Default MusicBanter Congress

I had an idea to start a simple satirical political campaigning/policy-making game on here. It's going to be very tongue-and-cheek, but I'd hope that it wouldn't totally devolve into utter chaos.

Pretty much, each week I'll post an "issue", with various options as to how to vote on that issue, with humourous bits of advice from various fabricated gurus and pundits. Debate will be allowed until the poll is closed, upon which the final vote will affect the condition of the country. After each vote, I will post a short write-up about the affects of the decision.

Every so often, if this thing actually works, I will start an "election" process whereupon certain people will gain status as president, VP, etc.

Please comment if you're interested!

Sure, if it involves political satire I'm in.

I like, I'll be as involved as my limitations allow.

When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

As interesting as this sounds, you wouldn't be able to technically "vote for Ron Paul", seeing as all personas and candidates will be fully-fabricated or other members of MusicBanter.

I actually think it would be fairly easy for someone to create an account under the name, "Ron Paul".

Okay, could we just say that direct impersonation is not permitted? That would screw things up really quickly.

Okay, here are the 17 issues that I'd like you to rate yourself on.

The scale is as follows...
1 - Very liberal
2 - Fairly liberal
3 - Centrist/No opinion
4 - Fairly conservative
5 - Very conservative

Put the number that best fits your views (in the game, of course) next to the given issues.

In this case, follow traditional party lines on what constitutes "liberal" and "conservative". I know the terms are misleading and inaccurate, but they are the best way for me to keep this game understandable and simple.

Social Issues

Abortion
Civil Rights
Gun control
Drug Regulation

Economy

Business Regulation
Progressive Taxation
Protectionism

Foreign Policy

Demilitarization
Humanitarian Intervention
Open Immigration

Social Services

Healthcare
Poverty Relief
Public Safety & Health
Senior Benefits

Government Investment

Crime Prevention
Environmental Protection
Public Schooling
