The election part sounds interesting...

I will represent big oil, pharmaceutical, and military contractor corporations and hand select the winning candidate for each position. Feel free to run through the motions and make your nominations though, you know, for the simulation of democracy.

Darn, I was really looking forward to that one world police state too. Oh well, Rick Perry in 2016!!!

As interesting as this sounds, you wouldn't be able to technically "vote for Ron Paul", seeing as all personas and candidates will be fully-fabricated or other members of MusicBanter.

I actually think it would be fairly easy for someone to create an account under the name, "Ron Paul".

Okay, could we just say that direct impersonation is not permitted? That would screw things up really quickly.

Okay, here are the 17 issues that I'd like you to rate yourself on.

The scale is as follows...
1 - Very liberal
2 - Fairly liberal
3 - Centrist/No opinion
4 - Fairly conservative
5 - Very conservative

Put the number that best fits your views (in the game, of course) next to the given issues.

In this case, follow traditional party lines on what constitutes "liberal" and "conservative". I know the terms are misleading and inaccurate, but they are the best way for me to keep this game understandable and simple.

I don't know much about politics so a lot of this is just talking out of my ass.

If I win this, I want to be referred to as the princess of musicbanter.

Abortion 1
Birth control is readily available and if not made free, cheapened. Sex ed must also teach students how to put on condoms properly, where to get birth control, STD stats and risks, the vast emotional and financial risks of teen parenthood, and where to get abortions. No mentions of abstinence allowed.
Civil Rights 1
Gun control 2
Guns should be readily available to the people that want them because they'd be getting them illegally anyway. However, I think that if violent crime increases, the price of bullets should go up with it.
Drug Regulation 1

Economy

Business Regulation 1
Businesses should NOT be given enough power to be able to control/manipulate the government. Ideally, they would be highly taxed if they didn't treat their workers properly (here or overseas), abused the environment, abused animals, associated financially with any criminal organization, bribed politicians, accepted bribes, or knowingly put dangerous (definition of dangerous will be somewhat lenient and will be composed at a later date because I don't want cancer but I do want all the fullfat chocolate I can eat) chemicals/additives in things that would come in contact internally or externally with the human body.
Progressive Taxation 2
Protectionism 2

Foreign Policy

Demilitarization 2
Humanitarian Intervention 1
Ideally, violence will be limited to corrupt people in power. (Definition of "corrupt" to be written at a later date. Kim Jong Il, Robert Mugabe, Hitler, et cetera. Dictators. Leaders that harshly mistreat their people.) Violence is used only when absolutely necessary. Military personal will be taught how to shoot with an emphasis on wounding rather than killing. All violence against civilians will be eliminated, ideally.
Open Immigration 2
Social Services 1

Healthcare 2
Poverty Relief 1
Public Safety & Health 1
Senior Benefits 2

Government Investment

Crime Prevention 1
Drugs are legal. I think that if people have decent jobs, opportunities for higher education, decent public schooling, and healthcare that includes free or signifigantly cheaper therapy and counseling, there'd be way less crime. :P
Environmental Protection 1
Hopefully this won't require a lot of funding if we tax businesses that mistreat the environment, discouraging them from doing it in the first place. Perhaps we could also offer tax breaks to businesses that come up with technological innovations that make us less dependent on dwindling natural resources.
Public Schooling 1
Public schooling deserves way more funding than it gets.

It'd be nice if I (as well as others in high positions of power) got the country's median wage as my salary rather than some ridiculously high one.

Okay, you know what, forget about posting stats. We'll get right down to voting.

Here are some ground rules/guidelines/info:

- All votes will be on the "floor" for 3-7 days. They will be posted in a new thread, where a poll will be available for voting.
- After every 5 votes, an "election" will take place. I will explain that in more detail later.
- Every so often, a scandal will arise. You may not choose whether or not your character is the victim of a scandal. It just happens. I wrote an algorithm to randomly select a member.
- Please don't spam, troll or digress unless it is part of the actual game

Okay, first poll will be up shortly. Check for a new thread!

Can I get caught shooting heroin into somebody's dick during a congressional hearing or something cool like that?
