Not true. They certainly don't get PC viruses, but there are viruses and spyware and such that will affect a Mac. I recommend installing some sort of anti-virus software on the Mac, especially if you are sending or receiving emails and other things from a Windows computer.

I'm not sure whether Macs are better than PCs but my reasoning kind of goes like this:
1. I grew up with PCs. 2. I don't feel like learning how to use a Mac. 3. My dad works with PCs. - I know this doesn't sound like a very good reason, but since he does that, I don't have to go anywhere to get my computer fixed, he just does it for me and does it well. Someone once tried to reason with me that in the time a PC ****s up 3 times, a Mac only ****s up once, but the three times I have to fix my PC, I don't have to pay a thing. In the one time I have to fix a Mac, it could end up being just as expensive as having bought the thing in the first place. This is a major turn off. There are probably more, but these are always the things I think about when I'm trying to choose what computer to buy next. I guess I'm mostly just stubborn, but I've only had small problems with my PC, things that are easily fixable. I don't know what it's like to have a Mac, but I'm just afraid to change. |
