But that's another story.
When you buy a car they don't tell you only to change your tires at their company or you will lose your warranty. Or only to plug in their Mp3 player into the mp3 socket because if you don't, any problem with the socket will be your fault.
They do sometimes make their warranties contingent on getting repairs done at the dealership, which is my point. Another example is IKEA. There are a lot of cases where if you, say, buy a lamp there the only place you can find bulbs that fit it... is at IKEA. These things are annoying, just as its annoying when Apple does this, but strangely Apple is the only company that seems to cause a strong emotional response in people. I can't say I've ever heard anyone imply that people who shop at IKEA must all be idiots who don't know anything about lamps because of the whole lightbulb issue.

I never heard about that problem with Ikea, but then I try to stay away from Ikea as far as possible .
But if that's true, same story.
Only I only noticed it in such an extreme way with apple.
I'm sure it goes for some new cars too, but then I don't like new cars.

I guess I don't see it as being more extreme with Apple. It's just typical corporate malarkey to me.

Traded those with a dressoir. The shelves were from my ex .
I also have an ikea lamp above the record player in my living room, a friend of mine was at ikea and told me about them and asked if he should bring me some. They do fit regular lamps by the way.
My living room couch is also from Ikea. Bought that from my ex too

They try to sell you 6gb's of DDR3 memory for 450 dollars.
I mean... How can you not see how ridiculous that is?

Maybe they're European-style bulbs or something. All I know is over here the only place to get them is IKEA.

I do think think its ridiculous. It's just, as I said, typical corporate malarkey.

I don't know. These are these little halogen things that you just push in. So... Never bought an Ikea lamp with an actual bulb.

You meant 'do not think'. I guess?
But they do tell the Mac owner that their mac will only work properly when you buy THAT memory. I mean... that's just a lie. Is that still not ridiculous?

I meant "I do think its ridiculous". I was agreeing with you, I just typed the word "think" twice by accident.

Ah, figures. Good .
But I never really got the feeling any other company was as extreme in this stuff...
I dunno, that probably is a VERY good reason to buy a non-apple PC. You can make them yourself

Really? I feel companies are always doing stuff like that. That's why, as a consumer, you should do your own research instead of taking the manufacturer's word on things.

I'm sure I could probably make my own car if I wanted to as well, I just don't have the time or the interest in doing so. I want a computer (and a car) that is as little of a pain in the ass as possible so that I can simply focus on using it on the things I need it for.
