Nirvana are... okay.
Pearl Jam however are woeful.
The Smashing Pumpkins aren't really grunge, that guitar tone isn't Grunge - Grunge was more of a sound I think, Brit Pop was more of a movement. The Smashing Pumpkins were just around when Grunge was going on.
Soundgarden and Mudhoney meh.
Alice In Chains aren't bad.

Pearl Jam are terrible. Hole are pretty good too. The Afghan Whigs are outstanding.
