On the internet of course you can pretend to be anything which kind of destroys it for those who want to make a big deal of what they do in bed, whether they are a virgin or not or whatever, lol. Those who are insecure about whatever identity they want to give themselves need to sort it out in real life rather than on the internet imo.

So, too new to start a thread so posting this in here
BUT
if you were seeing someone and music was very important to both of you but you had drastically different tastes in music and can't stand each other's preferences, would that be a dealbreaker?

it would most likely be a deal breaker and the cause of alot of friction if you two were extremely passionate about music but part of being in a relationship is learning to give and take....put up with some of their music for a bit even though you hate it while they do the same for you because they actually like you as a person and music shouldn't really be a determining factor.

I'd prefer different tastes. The differences are more interesting and fun that the similarities. Maybe I'm just used to it, my dating interests usually aren't bumping Wu Tang through their car.

But would she have to at least give a **** about music? Because if she's blasting Katy Perry, that doesn't count as different tastes. She just plays whatever's on the radio.

not really much bothered about that, really

none of my exes or my fiancee likes most of anything I listen to, bar maybe one or two acts

Compromise and be more open minded yourself, and then its not as much an issue. A few years ago a girl liking different music to me would have annoyed the hell out of me, then I branched out and realised that there is something in almost every genre that I like, I just havent found it all yet.

I was seeing a girl for a couple of weeks about a month ago who pretty much had an identical music taste to me. She's the only person I've met who could sit there and have a 20 minute conversation about the Spherical Objects back catalogue with me.

Unfortunately she was also incredibly intense and loud, which is essentially the polar opposite to my personality, and as things progressed I started to believe she was actually insane. I broke things off eventually, but that didn't stop the incessant calls and texts. She even resorted to playing knock down ginger on my house and leaving a pile of German pulp fiction outside my door.

Moral of this story is music taste is not the be all and end all.

True dat. I like Burzum. I imagine Varg Vikernes also likes Burzum. I still do not want to spend time with Varg Vikernes, nor would I trust him around my cutlery.
