Why should the value of a woman's contribution to comedy be determined by men? First of all, women's opinions on humour are not only valid, but necessary for a balanced study, and second of all, men seem to have more trouble relating to women than women do relating to men.

It's just outright ignorant to insist that women do not have a sense of humour. This is a male oriented world, and you will find that in every field of expertise except for the household, men have had decades of work and encouragement to become top of their class. Women have not had the same opportunities or encouragement.

I understand what you're getting at here, and to a large extent you're right, but I also think you're oversimplifying things. The relationship between women and men is far more dynamic and complicated than that, and the difference in opportunities and encouragement between the sexes is often a sword that cuts both ways.
