ASSSSCAT improv by Upright Citizen's Brigade.

Amy Poehler is actually pretty humorous when she's doing improv, which is a more natural form of humor than stand-up even, as it's not even prepared.

Even though orange shirt guy whose name escapes me is the best of the troupe.

But Tina Fey is pretty killer herself.

I don't feel like watching all of that, but can I assume that Amy and Tina don't suck as much as they do with scripted comedy? Cause as far as I'm concerned they should both be hanged for crimes against comedy.

Roseanne is hilarious. Both on the show and as a comedienne. My favorite character on Roseanne besides Roseanne herself is Darlene. I also thought Christina Applegate and Katey Segal were hilarious on Married... With Children (best sitcom ever). So to answer your question, yes, women can be funny.

Overall, mostly no. Women are more witty than they are funny. Most female comics try to over compensate by making sex jokes which comes off as trying too hard.

Ellen and wanda sykes ate the exception to the rule

i'm not a comedy connoisseur by any means, but the majority of my friends are female, and some of them are absolutely hilarious.
