Call me a traditionalist then. I'm fine with having gender roles, I think civilization has progressed enough that people have the choice to follow these roles, or not.

What I am asking is for women who choose the percieved gender roles of being a woman to get a little respect. Because they have made their choice just like everyone else.

Otherwise I'm gonna start shaving my body hair, putting on makeup and wearing dresses and tell all the men who choose not to follow me that they are mindless slaves to the idealism of women.

This I would like to see! Because really, aren't men kind of mindless slaves sometimes? (Terrorists, military men, etc.) They seem to have a lot of rules and like to make them, too.

I'm notoriously not a fan of "masculine" types but if that's what they want to be it is their right as people, I just prefer that they are not oppressive in nature.

"Slave" is a horribly overused term. A slave is someone who is forced to do something against their will.

Society has rules and criterions but for the most part (as in, not including things that are written law) people have the choice to follow them or not follow them, those who choose to follow them are not slaves.

You just exposed the fact that you have no ****ing idea what you're talking about. There are just as many high ranking female officers in the military that make stupid ass rules as there are men.

I stand by my theory that women DO NOT want equal treatment, but equal authority and privilege.

EXACTLY.

Equal treatment is impossible as long as there are two distinct sexes with their own differences and their own pros and cons. But equal authority and privilege is possible and this is what true feminism is fighting for.

The only true way people will ever be treated equally is if they were all the same, and I certainly don't want to live in that kind of world.
