Yeah it turns out I really can't wear my hair back at this length, otherwise I look like that. Kind of pissed off too because when I was getting my fingerprints done for my new green card, I wasn't aware I would also be getting my picture done. That stupid hairstyle is going to haunt me for the next decade any time I have to use my green card.

Then you should watch The Guild. It's a sitcom web series about an MMORPG guild and Will Wheaton comes on in the second or third season as the leader of an evil guild. It's pretty epic. And the episodes are only between five and ten minutes long so it's not like you're investing half your life into watching it.

How was that? I have thought about doing that myself for a while.

It was pretty rough for the few couple of weeks. I realized how much of a crutch that it was for me especially when I go out places and I wanted to avoid social interaction. Every little thing that popped into my head that I wanted to know more information about through googling I ended up writing it down in a journal. I would wait til the next day and see how important it was for me to know this information or if it was just something that I wish I could have consumed on the fly. If it was something that really bugged me and I needed to know the information to, I would go to the library and look up books about it. I also forced myself to go out more and appreciate the simple things in life. I almost wished at one point that I could just fully go off the grid but I didn't take it that far.

That sounds like a very good thing to do in todays society. Seriously the amount of technology is overwhelming and like you I find myself finding out information that really makes no difference to me whether i know it or not. While I think continuing the lack of technology for a long period of time is pointless and just shows a lack of self control, what you did seems very beneficial to what you do and do not need in life. I think at some point this summer I will do the same thing.
