I honestly do not understand why people who claim religion is a crock of shit still hang onto traditional views of an afterlife. I guess it all stems from our irrational fears of death.

I imagine my afterlife will be something like my prelife -- that is, nonbeing. Nothing for me to worry about.

I think this thread is more about the idea of someone's personal hell rather than anything to do with an afterlife.

This.

But when I hear 'hell' I just think of hell fire and brimstone. First image that comes to mind.

But my personal hell happened last April..

Which is why I initially chose a comical rather than a serious response.

In fact the whole "lake of fire" imagery lends somewhat of a comical interpretation of itself. What the hell (no pun intended) would you worry about fire for anyways, once you're dead? Oh and...

hell is a large pink room where you are obligated to listen to Paris Hilton and Tokio Hotel for all eternity.

According to Mark Twain:

"Go to Heaven for the climate, Hell for the company."

OK, it's a good provocative joke. But then you start to think: "Wait, it is supposed that all the mother****ers of History (Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, etc.) must be there too!" So then it's not so good company...

Musically speaking, an endless Florence Foster Jenkins' recital, or something like that.

If it's any consolation Real have always been my preferred Spanish team.

Few friends have always preferred Barca.

I remember when you gave us a seeing to at the Bernabau 3-1 in 2003(?) and THAT Ronaldo hat trick. got subbed and even we clapped him off.

I felt we deserved to go through overall on the tie but oh well, we got to see THAT Zidane goal.
