Most of my music is in CD's, prefer something I can hold and see to entertain my underdeveloped brain, also like the 'collectors' memorabilia that they usually come with.
I'm working on restoring a record player from my old man, which no doubt outclasses a 'budget' turntable I could buy new. It already has a good amp so I can use more of my budget on a new stylus and good speakers. as Neil Young comments on CD's compared to Vinyl, " We've gained control, but we've lost the sound. The sound is gone. Its sensory depravation: you think you're hearing it but you're not. It's an insult to the brain and heart and feelings to have to listen to this and think it's music" I'm yet to really find out but I'll take his word for it, as of yet. |
