Ah .
You could also buy a big internal HD. I don't know if you use a laptop or a PC. But there's 1,5TB external (portable) HD's for as little as 80 dollars .

I got a couple of these Transcend portable HDs. They are small and supposed to be able to survive a 1 meter fall while writing/reading.
The largest I got is (only) 650GB and was a little bit pricey. The fact I don't have to worry so much about dropping it etc. is a great consolation though. I'm quite nervous about my music collection!

I download albums I don't really care about, or if I don't really know the artist. I only actually pay for an album if I like it enough to buy a physical copy... By that I mean cds, usually. I buy maybe three or four new albums a year on cds. Most of the cds I have are used ones you can find for two or three dollars that don't skip but once in a while one has a cracked case or whatever... I have a ton of cassette tapes that were my dad's in the 70s/80s that are brilliant music (mostly classic rock albums) but I hate the format. The best format is vinyl, although I only have maybe 30 or so records total. I have the Beatles albums, Chicago albums, Velvet Underground, & a bunch of other random ones I'll find somewhere & think would be a good album to own... Nothing beats a lazy afternoon at home with a great record on the turntable and the speakers up loud!

I've downloaded in the past because I was unable to locate a hard copy in my area or online, but otherwise, I buy everything hard copy. Mainly because I like having the artwork / liner notes to look at, and because I find it more enjoyable to flip through my CD binders than to browse files on my computer. Though I will say that I do use youtube a lot to preview music before buying the hard copy, and I just recently started ripping my CD's so that I can listen on my computer at work.

not in a long time but if an Artist puts it out on vinyl, I would buy it.

Hell to the yeah... just did an inventory of it all the other day...I am missing 10... fortunately 9 are replaceable... Closer (original pressing... not so much...)
I would kill my ex if he weren't in jail... let me put it this way the memories that go with finding it and buying it and loving it are not replaceable...
