I'm disapointed with you music banter, your contributing to the downfall of the music business

Actually I only buy the stuff that I think is good enough. Shitty bands don't deserve my money!

Eh, you see them so much that they lose their flair.

I know what you mean, but I'm pretty new so they still have some novelty.

Most of my music is in CD's, prefer something I can hold and see to entertain my underdeveloped brain, also like the 'collectors' memorabilia that they usually come with.

I'm working on restoring a record player from my old man, which no doubt outclasses a 'budget' turntable I could buy new. It already has a good amp so I can use more of my budget on a new stylus and good speakers.

as Neil Young comments on CD's compared to Vinyl,

" We've gained control, but we've lost the sound. The sound is gone. Its sensory depravation: you think you're hearing it but you're not. It's an insult to the brain and heart and feelings to have to listen to this and think it's music"

I'm yet to really find out but I'll take his word for it, as of yet.

What record player are you restoring? .
Probably depends on what you call budget. You can buy a really nice record player for $175-225, new. Below that it's mainly plastic crap.

I have a rather nice CD player and a rather nice record player and I just can't understand why people would prefer CD's. Yes I see the downsides of records. The background noise, mainly. But it's as Neil says, a record player makes so much more 'music'. I'm not saying digital can't sound good. Because it can. But CD, in it's current format (16 bits 44.1khz samplerate) can't. Or at least it can't sound as good as a proper record player.

"Sound good" is a matter of opinion. To each their own.

I guess .

I had a pretty good month, financially.
I think it's time to pay a visit to the record store.

I have to be honest, I find it rather condescending when people speak as though they're better at enjoying music than other people. It's subjective.

EDIT: Not that you're particularly offensive, just that you reminded me of this feeling, and I also was not sure how to take that wink.
