I think i've actually bought more physical albums this year than i have in any other years. CDs are just so cheap now, and used CDs are being given away for practically nothing. Downloading however is still my main source of music.

I buy vinyl when I can, it's a ritual thing playing records, moreso with my TT as it has an extra step involved. I have a Townshend Rock and this has a trough of silicon fluid you have to move in and out when changing records. It damps oscillations at the front end and is so worth it.

I buy physical albums if I feel like it'd be a good collectors item, otherwise I just download or buy off iTunes.

I'm disapointed with you music banter, your contributing to the downfall of the music business

Actually I only buy the stuff that I think is good enough. Shitty bands don't deserve my money!

Eh, you see them so much that they lose their flair.

I know what you mean, but I'm pretty new so they still have some novelty.

Most of my music is in CD's, prefer something I can hold and see to entertain my underdeveloped brain, also like the 'collectors' memorabilia that they usually come with.

I'm working on restoring a record player from my old man, which no doubt outclasses a 'budget' turntable I could buy new. It already has a good amp so I can use more of my budget on a new stylus and good speakers.

as Neil Young comments on CD's compared to Vinyl,

" We've gained control, but we've lost the sound. The sound is gone. Its sensory depravation: you think you're hearing it but you're not. It's an insult to the brain and heart and feelings to have to listen to this and think it's music"

I'm yet to really find out but I'll take his word for it, as of yet.
