I buy them just for the fact that my electronics have an uncanny habit of dying all the time. CERTAINLY NOT DUE TO USER ERROR, THAT WOULD BE RIDICULOUS.
That being, I'm only buying once that I will constant listen too, and they are usually on vinyl or such. Car doesn't have a working CD player, so CD's are basically useless to me.

I always buy a physical copy. There was a short period of time where I bought music off the internet, but I never do anymore, and those which I bought from the internet I've since gotten physical copies. I love my CDs. I agree with Goblin - downloaded music just doesn't feel right. I like to have the full package, the case, the CD, the liner notes, the artwork, everything.

Yes i usallly always buy a hard copy. But if the time arises where i hear some of a band and its somewhat decent I admit i will sometimes download it illegally. But if i like it i try to buy it depending on my money situation at the current time.

I prefer to buy CD's. I like to have a physical format for the artwork etc, and you can get a lot of new ones quite cheaply these days. I also like scouting round markets etc for some older out of print stuff you can pick up. I also still have quite a bit of vinyl of up to 30 years old and over. I sometimes download mp3's if I want to listen to something new instantly, or I am too impatient, but that's quite rare to be honest.

Vinyl is making a comeback and I got rid of all mine. Most of it was metal/rock from the 80s. I had some rare collectors editions, but I got rid of them too. I have issues with clutter, so I don't like keeping stuff I'm not going to use.
I was reading an article online a few weeks ago saying vinyl was becoming popular again, but I doubt it'll ever be mainstream popular to be honest. |

I used to have a little bit of vinyl, but I sold it because I didn't really have the space or anything to play it on.
I have like 10 cds, and all of them are secondhand. There's a chain of stores around here called Rasputin's that buys and sells secondhand dvds/cds, and that's where I've gotten pretty much all of them. But I download pretty much everything otherwise. It's easier, especially if it's a band I've got mixed opinions on.

I feel like an ass downloading music, it kind of ****s over the band you like. But the main reason I do it is just I don't have money to be buying albums that I really want, they might be cheap, but in the long run it builds up.
