The un-Offificial Dinner Party Game
O.K., we've all asked someone, "If you could meet anyone in history, past or present, who would it be?
This game goes one step further, or several, it's up to you. Rules are easy, Who Is Coming?(a good party has between 7 and 12 people but if this is a candel light dinner between you and Winston Churchill? I understand) Why are they coming?( What got them invited?) Who's cooking? Whats for dinner? Drinks are being brought by whom? (Those of us above the age of consent... will be partaking in other various mind expanding things) Who's bringing the party favors? ( Gear, works, for the adults, mind you..)Who will be providing the music and entertainment i.e. Who's the Band? Where is your perfect dinner party taking place? REMEMBER PEOPLE!! The 7 p's....Proper prior planning prevents piss poor partying. I expect the Brits will see this as a chance to show off their event skills, I hope the Americans can represent. We know a thing or two entertaining a guest.Yet I know very little about how the rest of the world does it. I hope to learn something. Mine starts off at 5 pm Pacific standard time, on my beach, and the event is being catered. The menu is highly selective and the enjoyment of the meal is a major factor in the inviting of my guests. Tonights menu is Sushi, Sashimi, varied Rolls And Tempura. I had to make sure that it was the favorite food of each of my guest and I've been told that it is. This is only the main course, and food will be out all night, yet the Sushi is being pepared individualy for each guest, the Chefs and their staff have been flown in from Japan to do this one job. Then they are back to the Emperors kitchen. After the meal, a carnivores delight will be found always attended and fully stocked to keep up the energy of my guests. They need the energy to dance in the sand as Kyoto Jazz Massive starts their set at 8 pm promptly. Until then I just put on my playlist nice and low in the background, Just loud enough so people can comment on its extremely sweet roll. My playlist does roll sweetly, believe that. Now it's 5:30 and the guest are arriving, strangely enough it's the Hawaiian group that gets there first, Laird Hamilton, Jimmy Oha and both the Irons bro's Andy and Bruce. The stories they can tell can keep a party entertained all night by themselves, I'm lucky there were no waves at Mavericks. Before hellos are done Snoop Dogg and crew bounce in, all 20 guys, I am not kidding, ( there goes proper planning) they show up in 6 Hummers. Then I find out that 5 hummers are leaving, some concert close by. Snoop is bringing the party favors and as always, it's all on like donkey kong. President Barak Obama and Michelle arrive next, they brought the security so no cops show up, or worse, some guest leave because they think the party may get raided.(If at all possible have at least one Head of State at your function, never have problems with the cops that way)Always late and way into serving the main course, George Carlin and Lenny Bruce show up, not together, Bruce cabbed in and immediately went to sleep on the coats. George always shows up if he has a Presidents ear, he offers alot of suggestions. Michelle Obama noticed there wasn't a good boy girl ratio at my party for dancing and the local office sent over some UCLA interns, they were fun, very fun. My Wife calles them the Sin-terns. With much ado the band shows up and after a few tense moments with the Japanese Sushi Chefs over some old bar bet( which I ended up paying for, if it's in the intrest of the party..)they sat down and ate. All in all we fed 21 people and we had just enough food. Music got started early and Snoop broke out with the guys in K.J.M. It was rad. afterwards we sat down to a bonfire and talked about how to solve each of the worlds problems one by one, President Obama was very open. The Hawaiians and I go surf the evening high tide, which is crap where I live, but, we were out there for the principle. Now Everyones winding down and if you were wondering, we drank water, no one at this party drinks anymore, and finding their bedrooms. Just as my wife and I go into our room the claen up fairies show up and start their silent chores. We'll wake up tomorrow at the crack of noon and have waffles, maybe Lenny will be up by then. Hmmm... I don't see how this thread is going to be any fun. I'm so lazy that I can hardly be arsed to plan a real event, much less an imaginary one. You guys go ahead and take this one. I'll just watch. heh...

What was I thinking; as follows,
I haven't got a clue, I'm a longtime union man and know what "she"( for fear of retribution) and our lead union killer, President RayGun systematicly did to the unions world wide. Does my apology stand noted. I changed it to Winston Churchill.

Just kidding, but to be quite honest I don't have much of a hold on Thatcherism myself. Though I can't imagine it wasn't too far from what Reagan meant to the working class over here.
