Alright, I said I would do some MB demographics and now I have. I present to you my lovely MusicBanter population pyramid!

These figures are based on numbers gathered from your posts, not the poll. The figure on the left hand side just shows the answers I've gathered and on the right, you can see the population pyramid. I've divided them up in male (XY) and female (XX) and although I understand iksosept has an extra Y in some cells, this should be good enough.

Some statistical trivia :

FEMALE MEMBERS :

8 females stated their age with posts in this thread
Based on those 8, the average age of females on MB is 20 years

MALE MEMBERS :

27 males stated their age with posts in this thread
Based on those 27, the average age of males on MB is ~22,1 years

ALL MEMBERS :

Based on these numbers, the average age of MB members is ~21,6 years.
Because the average age og males and females are so similar, a statistical test will probably show that you can't reliably say that they are, in reality, different. Think of them as similar.

Although I'd like to see more people answering, this is what we got (I could have counted the posts wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is correct). If you ever wondered wether you were younger or older than the mean MB member age, this post should answer your question.

^Yup, seems roughly ~77% of the members are male and only ~23% are female.

thats like the demographics of the college I am going to!

I think there are MUCH more females on other forums.Look at relationship forums. Sims 2 writing forums. Much more females there.
