Listen to my schizz
The Rules: (A) Find a track in your collection that you know has no real artistic merit or is cheesy as the Edam processing factory. (B) Find a link for a vid and post. (C) Invite people to rip the piss or maybe secretly admire(?) You MUST genuinely like the track you posted and own it in some form or another. A few notes on why you like the track are appreciated. I will begin this daft game: After dinner smooth Jazz Funk tune belter Sade was the artist of choice for cash riddled idiotic Yuppies in the 80's. For some strange reason I like a lot of her music. The blown out ballads make me cringe but her Soul/Funk tinged tunes are well produced with good Bass lines and she has a sexy voice too. |
I always feel the need to point out that Sade used to be Robert Elms girlfriend.
Probably because he always says that everytime he talks about her. |
Come on people. Don't worry I wont ban you if your review is negative ;)

The voice to me seems far from sexy, seems more like she swallowed something she shouldn't have. Sorry Jackhammer, i either hate this, or have a secret undying love for it of which i wouldn't reveal. |
How about...
"Informer"—Snow Yes, it's a cheesy, cheesy song that contributes nothing new to the genre that it's aping. Yes, he's a white Canadian faking a Jamaican accent. Yes, it's yet another example of record labels trying to make predominantly black music more mainstream by using a white performer. But for some reason I like this song a lot, and I must confess I own the whole album and it actually has several other songs on it that I like too. And, yes, this is even more embarrassing to me because my wife is Jamaican. |

I know. Soppy ballads are for soppy people. Maybe I'm a romantic underneath. To be fair it came out when my parents split up so nostalgia plays a part: |
I think a large amount of the music I listen to would fit under this category (no artistic merit). :D
It's one of Lagwagon' worst songs, if you think about it, but I enjoy listening to it. I find the "one day" part catchy, for some reason. I have no clue why they decided to stick it on a full-length, when a great song like A Feedbag Of Truckstop Poetry was included on their "Let's Talk About Leftovers" album. |

Whitesnake are pretty much the bottom of the barrel as far as the well known glam metal bands go and yet... and yet... I like them too. Sort of. But it's mostly because their self-titled album reminds me of the rollerskating rink I used to hang out at when that album was new. And that rollerskating rink is where I had my first kiss and where I used to go on most of my little dates with my first girlfriend. I have similar feelings about this song (and several others) from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack: That's right, I said Dirty Dancing. :o: |
