1) Bobby Gentry, Ode to Billie Joe.
2) The Beatles, All you need is love. 3) The Doors, Light my fire. Not, bad,. not bad at all, i didn't expect them to be so good.

So, you were born in the summer of 1967? That's when I was only three years old (in November 1966), but it was definitely my favorite summer of music! I'd love to know what the rest of the HOT 100 was on the day you were born?

Top 100; as follows,
Lol, my top songs from 67 are the Monkee's, they were my Beatles, of course I found them in re-runs, but my Mom swears Daydream Believer was the first song I sang. '64 Huh? Remember the bi- centennial that was a party right?

My favorite song of 1967 is Janis Ian's "Society's Child (Baby I've Been Thinking)". But there was alot of GREAT music that year with the start of the popularity of such groups and artists as Chicago (then known as Chicago Transit Authority), the Doors (Jim Morrison went to one of my alma maters, St. Petersburg Junior College -- and in the early 1980's some of the professors at the Clearwater, FL campus -- who were there during the brief time in 1963 - 64 that Morrison was going there -- used to say I looked like him), Janis Joplin in Big Brother & The Holding Company, the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Aretha Franklin, the Grass Roots, etc. And 1967 also had the release of arguably (although my personal opinion) one of the greatest album's of all-time, the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"! Last edited by musicvideohistoryfan; 03-08-2009 at 07:41 PM. Reason: Changing one character |
