Does This Charming Man even count? It's not an album is it? I mean they released it as a single, but I don't think a single plus what? Two b-sides? Counts as a record.
EDIT: What the hell browsing this whole list its a cross between albums/singles...Someone should slap Mojo magazine =| |
bell and sebastion,...ha that reminds me of that part of high fidelity when jack black calls it sad bastard music
|
Seems far to random to be any sort of credible list.
But I don't see anything bad on it. I can't even be bothered to hate on The Wedding Present these days. |
I can't believe Lloyd Cole managed a spot in the top 20!

I know none of them. Probably because I'm Canadian. I find all new music from the UK sucks. It's not punk anymore.
|
90% of those bands were better than punk was anyway.

i think they meant 'record' to mean just any old indie musical recording. Mojo is such a rip-off these days. To their credit their articles are always immaculately researched...
It's weird how before Q and the like you didn't get all these retrospective musical monthlys... are there any GOOD new music publications? the list has some great music in it but there's no method to this, it's just a list of names. I mean Huggy Bear aren't very good at all, Arctic Monkeys are in it (?) and Franz Ferdinand are higher than the three post-punk bands they are plagiarizing... you can get most of these from the CD86 compilation aswell - value! |
I think that the list was made like this so they could put bands like Huggy Bear on it.
I mean everything they did was utter crap but Her Jazz was a great single. |

From what I can see their is alot of singles up there (spacemen 3 - revolution, The Smiths - This Charming Man, Joy Division - Transmission)
|
It's a crap list. It's missing ALL the Indie heavyweights.

Super Furry Animals - Radiator (or Rings Around The World) The Coral - The Coral Band Of Bees - Free The Bees Muse - Showbiz (It was indie when it first came out) Spiritualized - Ladies And Gentleman, We Are Floating... Ride - Nowhere Beta Band - 3 EPs Badly Drawn Boy- Hour Of The Bewilderbeast just at the top of my head...if I researched it I'm sure I could find more |
