Thanks! I like to keep my musical taste as varied as it can be. In fact, Hero Of the Beach and Ursa And The Major are both local bands. Pretty great stuff. Zolof is Anthony Green's old band, which is "still alive & and kicking, but on a break".

Here I am about to attempt a list citing my favourite band for each letter of the alphabet, which sounds a bit babyish but surely I cant be much 'worse' than any of the other people who are posting already right?

I list the artist along with -
a)favourite Album.
b)favourite 'Track' from that particular Album.
Here goes...

808 State- 90 (1989)- 'Pacific 202'
A- Alice In Chains- MTV Unplugged (1996) - 'Nutshell'
B- Bob Dylan- Desire (1975) - 'Hurricane'
C- Cast- All Change (1995)- 'Back Of My Mind'
D- Dire Straits- On Every Street (1992) - 'Ticket To Heaven'.
E- Eric Clapton- Unplugged (1992)- 'Before You Accuse Me'
F- The Fall- Shift Work (1991) - 'Edinburgh Man'
G- Gun Club- Lucky Jim (1993)- 'Cry To Me'
H- Happy Mondays- Squirrel & G-Man (1987)- 'Kuff Dam'
I- Iron Maiden-Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son (1988)- 'The Evil That Men Do'
J- John Lee Hooker- The Healer (1989)- 'The Healer (With Carlos Santana)'
K- King Missile- King Missile (1994)- 'Wind-Up Toys'.
L- Little Feat- Waiting For Columbus (Live) (1978)- 'Fat Man In The Bathtub'
M- Miles Davis- On The Corner (1972)- 'Helen Butte/Mr. Freedom X'
N- Neil Young- Mirrorball (With Pearl Jam 1995)- 'I'm The Ocean'
O- Ocean Colour Scene- Marchin' Already (1997)- 'Hundred Mile High City'
P- Paul Weller- Live Wood (1994) - 'Can You Heal Us (Holy Man)/War'
Q- Queens Of The Stone Age- Lullabies To Paralyze (2005)- Little Sister
R- Robert Plant- Pictures At Eleven (1982)- 'Slow Dancer'.
S- Sonic Youth- Goo (1990)- 'Tunic (Song For Karen)'
T- Tea Leaf Green- Rock 'N' Roll Band (Live) (2006)- 'The Garden (Part I)'
U- Ulver- Kveldssanger (1995) - 'Ostenfor Sol Og Vestenfor Maane'
V- Van Halen- Van Halen (1978)- 'Runnin' With The Devil'
W- Widespread Panic- Free Somehow (2008)- 'Walk On The Flood'
W- Willie Nelson- Across The Borderline (1993) - 'American Tune'
X- (sorry not got a thing! hence double entry for 'W' ^^)
Y- Yes- The Yes Album (1971)- 'I've Seen All Good People...'
Z- ZZ Top- Antenna (1994)- 'Pin Cushion'

So there you go I managed to do them all (apart from X as there was bugger all in my collection- only thing i could think of was 'XTC' but cant remember which song of theirs I like+ dont have any albums...

Anyway, I'd like to know what yous think of the selections ^^ & if you want to know anything regarding anything I've posted about then please feel free to ask!

I love Badmotorfinger too, Searching With My Good Eye Closed is such an epic song

as for the stuff you haven't heard, if you know the song "Cliffs of Dover", you know Eric Johnson

he's got other good songs as well, like Zap, SRV, and Desert Rose

RHH is a rockabilly/psychobilly band. idk if that's your thing, but i like them

I'm not that into Kyuss, i've only heard a little from them, so could someone fill in the blanks for me?

and Dysrhythmia is an instrumental post rock band. i like their older stuff a bit more than new, but it still good(fast fwd to 1:25)
