First of all, I'm not a fan of either of the bands but if I had to pick one of the two it would be Nickelback and if I had to pick best song from either one of them it would be Creed with "My sacrifice". The type of music I listen to is: Green day, Foo fighters, Red hot chili peppers, Nirvana, Creedence clearwater revival, The offspring, Guns n roses and more.
Pearl Jam is often considered as a great band though I don't really care for them but from what I've listened to I can almost not tell them apart from Creed. The singer has been blamed many times for copying Eddie Vedder's singing style. But when people then say that their music sucks and sounds bad... Then shouldn't the same go for Pearl Jam? Or is it simply because they were first and then Creed kinda stole their style? Because if you just listen to the music (ignore the music videos, that the singer might be a douchebag and so on) is Creed really that bad or is it just mainstream to hate them? If Creed came before Pearl Jam would it be switched positions? I think "My sacrifise" is a great song but it's the only one I like from the band. Why isn't it? I think if Pearl Jam released that song it would be consider great and one of their best. I mean for example Oasis sounds like a wannabe The Beatles band and the singer is a douchebag but people still consider them good. And Nickelback. I think they have a few good songs (the hits in the top of their spotify page) but people hate them more than anything else. Their singer is far less annoying than Creed's singer and atleast they play instruments and can perform. So why are these bands so ****? or are they good? I don't want to hear "the singer is an idiot (because Axl Rose was too). I also don't really understand what people mean when they say "generic" because a lot of bands can fit into the description of that. ![]() |

Yet another Nickelback thread! Ok, it's about Creed too. I only listened to the latter on one album but did not like what I heard, so didn't go back. Maybe I should. Maybe I will. But I've so much more else to listen to .
Nickelback I think get the stick because they cultivate this image of rock godship and people outside the genres of heavy metal or heavy rock seem to think that they represent what the genre is all about. They don't. Their music is generally quite safe and generic and like a lot of bands, their fans seem to think they invented rock.

The lead guitarist of Creed/Alter Bridge, Mark Tremonti, is more original and a better musician than any current member of Nickelback so I'm a bit confused as to how anyone could say Nickelback is the better band. If I had to judge which is better on each bands entire body of work, Creed would easily have the longer list of better music...easily. Creed bores me, always has. But uh, Nickelback is one big snooze fest.
This won't be a thread meant to go on for pages, unless people come here to troll which they will. I'll happily partake. Anyway... It shouldn't be a mystery why either band is so disliked by so many people. Trollheart touched on plenty of reasons. |

It's all that Yarling! I can't stand the Yarling! I didn't like it when Eddie Vedder did it so I sure as HELL didn't like it when all the Grunge Light bands started doing it. It's one thing to develop a good DOOM voice, like Lamb of God or Slayer, but Yarling sounds so weak and whiny. Funny too that bands with Yarlers for singers tend to want to be the most popular. People have often said that Eddie Vedder was Grunge's biggest sellout. Coincidence? Hmmmm.

While in a dream, I asked one of my fellow dream citizens if he knew any way to make it last longer, and he gave me a list of bands I could listen to within the dream that'll make it last. The only one I remember was Nickelback, so I went around asking people if they had any Nickelback on deck, no one did.
