I'm actually not sure why Nickelback has gotten so much hate. I mean, I know some of their mainstream songs like "Rockstar" and **** was pretty much crap but there is loads of good songs, at least over a handful, on their albums "Silver Side Up" and "All the Right Reasons" whereas "Curb" was a piece of ****.
Favorites of mine include "Where Do I Hide?", "Fight For All The Wrong Reasons", "Side of a Bullet", "Should've Listened", "Too Bad", and "S.E.X.". |

I liked their first few albums when they first came out. I think a hand full of their rock ballads are outstanding as well. They started to sound so repetitious and generic to me after their first few albums to the point "It all just basically sounded the same". So why bother anymore.

I hate them because their songs are generic, the guitar playing annoys me, Chad Kroeger's voice is irritating, the melodies sound bad to me and I hate the lyrics. I don't hate them because they are "mainstream" or "uncool".

You should all be thanking Nickelback for enlightening all of your lives. Nickelback had a classic with 'Silver Side Up' Chad is a trendsetter within himself morphing Grunge and Alternative Rock together. Thank you, Chad.

You keep on stating how innovative Nickelback are, why don't you give us some examples of this innovation in relation to the music scene at the time?

Btw the song is about as bland and terrible as it gets, you need to do far better than this.

Okay. Silver Side Up easily influenced the Foo Fighters with their albums like 'One by One' and 'In Your Honor' You can see the resemblance with Kroeger and Grohl..'Best Of You' being the purest example of that, it's quite fairly obvious..
