Honestly these days I doubt most people spend more than 10 seconds at a time on any given day looking at their desktop, but that still looks kind of eye-gouging when you're trying to find a desktop shortcut. I guess it helps that you only have two, but still.

I haven't really used desktop icons in a few years. I prefer my desktop to just be something that greets me whenever I turn on my computer.

Using a custom Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS interface for my server.

Desktop Properties:
  • Global Dark Theme
  • Theme GTK+ = Numix
  • Icons = Breeze
  • Cursor = Adwaita (default)
  • Desktop media widget = gmusicbrowser (fantastic for libraries of 100,000-1M objects)
  • and Sub/Ultrasonic for remote access
Objects at the ready include:
  • Brian Eno & Peter Schmidt's Oblique Strategies deck
  • Anonymous Minted Bitcoin proof
  • Cap'n Crunch cereal prize 2600 whistle
  • Principality of Sealand proof (fashioned into a ring band)
  • Superman Linux Live Drive
  • and Beethoven bust sporting my AudioQuest Nighthawk series cans.

Wow, you actually have the statue from your profile pic! I thought that was something you just found on google images or something.

The Bitches Brew bottle. And the dog with the gramophone... Really neat items!

He's got the most curious rooms that look like fun.

Yeah, that's what I meant.. There are so many versions of him with different "titles" that I wasn't sure.

I was never huge into Magic, but I had a lot of fun with Planeswalkers when Rafiq first came out playing an Exalted GWB with Elspeth and Finest Hour.

Thanks! I did have a bit of fun decorating my abode. The dog, ("Nipper") is also depicted on an antique tin sign hanging above my monitor, just below a large framed art print of a schematic of a theremin overlaid with the names of key figures in the history of electronic sound. And that piece is in turn framed at the left and right by portraits of my favorite 20th-Century composers.

I've really made my listening room my own space. Glad you dig it!

Idk what that means.. if you're saying he's not a Planeswalker, I know. Elspeth

I don't know if that deck is even good or competitive, but it was fun..

Edit: I'm pretty sure at that time some Black/Blue deck was dominating FNM, as well as a Green Elf deck..
