Yac changed it for me. Everyone called me "Mord" anyway.

I was just asking Clancy where you were the other day.

The Batlord 08-07-2017 07:55 AM

Not a big fan of the coloring and compression, but all in all a decent 7/10.

Aux-In 08-07-2017 08:29 AM

Pretty bangin' 9.25/10.

The Batlord 08-09-2017 06:25 PM

I don't remember much about Mad Season other than not caring, and that avatar is boring. 2/10

I wouldn't say that avatar is burning up the charts with excitement, although I do have to say that a skull head drawn via graph paper is something to behold. Luckily comics post-'95 or so would bring a much fresher style to drawing than the bland, blotchy, tin-can approach of their Golden, Silver and Bronze Age brethren. 4/10

Let's not pretend that the immediately post-95 art style was any better. They went the opposite direction with all the bright colors but didn't learn anything about good taste, cartooned up the character designs until they were just as ugly, and in general improved on nothing. The early 2000s were when the actual recovery seemed to take place.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. However, Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, the Image Comics guys and the like set the stage for that. These guys introduced a lot more detail into their work. Joe Madureira and Michael Turner definitely set up everything to go mainstream, as comics did in the 2000s. I did quit after that just due to life getting busy, but I remember the transition. Always thought the older art styles were extremely boring, but it was all they had at the time.

This is not in relation to your calling my avatar boring; just have always thought this about the older art styles.

Dear djchameleon,

No.

Sincerely, that Ori boy.

"Mord" is "murder" in Norwegian. Nice.

Ori, you get an 8 because I love it, but the movement is a bit distracting
