the problem with my argument is that i didn't make an argument. i agree with you!
the problem with all these places banning smokers is that a lot of times there is no designated smoking area.
now i'm not saying i have a problem with banning smoking, i just think alternatives for smokers need to be provided. a lot of times there isn't anywhere else we can go.
i also really don't like the way smokers are looked at as if they are the scum of the earth. and then we ban them from places rules like, you must be 30ft away from the building, etc.- its like saying their habit is so nasty we don't even want to see them near us.
so in the end, i agree with the bans for the health and safety of all. i just think its mean :(

I always got a kick out of the idea that people in the process of getting sloshed can actually find it within themselves to complain that somebody across the room from them might possibly, speculatively be causing detriment to their health. I still don't understand why I'm not allowed to smoke at McDonald's.

It's pretty clear here that politicians want to move Norway towards becoming a smoke-free country. If that's your political agenda, then banning it from any public place should be a good idea. Of course, you do it a step at a time.

Yea, they're already moving forward on the bar/casino smoking ban here in LA. I personally don't have a problem with it, and I know if my only qualifications as a worker were a background in either of those two scenarios and I didn't smoke, I wouldn't want to have to be subjected to it just to earn a living.

Whether there eventually becomes an all-out ban on tobacco in the future, who knows... All I know is it's probably the only thing that would help me quit smoking. lol...

7 years since I quit I think it is and I still miss it sometimes. It doesn't cause any stress or drama in my day to day life, but it certainly took a few years before the dreams stopped. Being confronted with cigarettes can still give me slight cravings ..

Smoking is awesome. It's just too bad it's expensive and unhealthy. To me, there's nothing better with beer or a coffee than a handrolled cigarette.

I know! *sob*

I'm patiently waiting for technology to magically make cigarettes the healthiest thing you could ever put in your body.

I'm still waiting for Apple to develop the iFag.

In the past while i've managed to cut down on smoking a fair bit. I've managed to stop smoking around the house and now i only smoke when i'm around the town or when i'm out for a few drinks. Soon enough i'm gonna try and cut it down to just smoking when drinking, i don't think i'd ever be able to give that up though cos they just go so well together and a lot of my friends do the same. I pretty much started through social smoking and i want to go back to just that.

Is basically how I feel about the whole thing.

drum gold + blue rizzlas + menthol filters + a steaming cuppa mocha =

I don't really smoke a lot daily (only 1-5 rollies), so not being allowed to smoke in public places doesn't really bother me. Plus it's inadvertently made the night out experience so much more sociable - it's much easier to start up a conversation with a total stranger in the smoking area outside than inside wherever it is you're at.

I've never tried a cigarette, you should all be ashamed of yourselves.
