haha, i know, i'm not very vocal about it at all. also, if there's a lot of power....skiing comes before friends all the time (except in EXTREME, and i do mean EXTREME circumstances), and before family most of the time.

so, because this is a thread about what you care about, i'd like to share something. My mountain has been getting dumped on. 4 feet of snow has fallen in the last week. I couldnt go, because 2 weeks ago I pulled my mcl and my knee is still recovering. plus school and work gets in the way. now, normally, i would be crying at missing such great snow, BUT, all the bowls have been closed because of avalanche danger. This means that they'll be opening again later on this week, just in time for when i get up there thursday night. leaving me to enjoy 4 FEET OF UNTRACKED, BEAUTIFUL POWDER on rediculously steep, insanely gnarly terrain. YEAH!!!!!!

Cool. Skiing rocks. Especially in deep snow.

There is no feeling in the world like going off the slopes and skiing through deep snow, only to fall and think you're about to drown in snow.

haha, no, the BEST, is when you get a day of chest deep powder. it's flying your face the entire day, and you don't even go in for lunch, just munch on some power bars on the chairlift, because you can't tear yourself off the mountain for a minute. You get to the lodge at after a full day of skiing (first on the chair, last off), tired, beat to the core, hungry as f*ck, and partial frostbite on your face, but you don't give a sh*t because your mouth is frozen in a permanent smile since you just had the best day of your entire life. now THAT'S an epic ski day.

nah, hypothermia is prevented with good gear, it's the frostbite you have to watch out for. Some of my best days have been in about -25 to -30 celcius weather. rediculously good snow, and the vast majority of people think it's too cold to go out, so me and my friends and a few others would pretty much have the mountain to ourselves. Problem is, we're all poor ski bums, and can't afford the fancy balaclava face mask things that prevent frostbite. So in true ghetto-ski-bum fashion, we masked our faces with duct tape, leaving the lips open just enough to breathe through, and skied rediculously epic snow all day. Hurt like a b*tch getting it off, but hey, it was WELL worth it.
