Dan Deacon
Known for his interactive live performances and emotional, danceable tracks throughout eight studio albums, this noise pop curator, electronic, avant-garde loop fiend, oscillation manipulator extraordinaire: Dan Deacon is a name you should know. Here's a link to his Tiny Desk performance, in which he gets a room full of white NPR nerds to dance (and made me cry in doing so): Dan Deacon: Tiny Desk Concert : NPR And here is my favorite track. Taken from his 2009 album, Bromst: His latest work, Glass Riffer, dropped in February, and once again Dan constructs these pieces that are at once heavy and lighthearted, fun and melancholic, complex and accessible. Check him out, I believe he truly has something to offer everyone. |

Pretty cool how he hooked up some triggered actuators to that upright, and he really makes good use of quite a few of those pedals and gadgets. Good stuff, thanks.
