My first program was Reason, which probably has the most intuitive interface I've ever worked with. Unless you are an EQ god it will sound like **** though.

Ableton is the best option, but confusing at first. Check out SadowickProduction's youtube channel, his tutorials are pretty good.

Or if you're on a Mac, you probably have GarageBand already installed. It has a bunch of cheesy presets you can dink around on.
