Well for important, Astral Projection is pretty much top

Also Simon Posford/Hallucinogen and The Infinity Project, major names right there. The albums Twisted and Feeling Weird are essential listens.

One of my favorite goa albums here from Doof

Some Total Eclipse

Electric Universe

Eat Static are another major one. Formed from some Ozric Tentacles guys, another essential group.

Astral Projection's "Nilaya", the first track for the "Another World" album, is one hell of a composition. It could be covered in any other genre, such as metal, or classic instruments, easilly.
