Music LED Sync

Hey all. New to the forums and not sure if this is the right place to put this, but anyways, I've been wanting to sync LED lights with music for a long time now, and I finally want to sit down and do it. I want to do something similar to this you tube.com/watch?v=aqW__fdRZ70 (Remove space) My main problem is hooking up LED's to the subwoofer. Any ideas?

Do you know if I could hook that up to a soundbar with Bluetooth and use it from there?

Pretty sure you'd go blue tooth to the source and the gadget above just picks up the sound from an audio output.
