I'll join because I don't know too much about the genre. I agree on dropping the restrictions.

I think ambient would be very interesting, so I agree with the last couple of posters

Exclamation *Update 2* – Questionnaire, Members list

Well, alright then, I'll remove the restrictions. All genres are fair game.

I have compiled a list of members and completed a very rough questionnaire. I will post both here now, and I will (try) to keep the current copy of both the member list, and questionnaire in the first post of this thread, which can be found here.

to get it started.

Start throwing out suggestions for the first album that we review.

Sub Focus - S/t
Bassnectar - Underground Communication
Mat Zo - Damage Control

I was reading through the early stages of Trollheart's prog. thread, and it appeared that the thread actually died in the early stages because the album nominations were too tedious.

The way the prog. club is run now is that every member gets a turn to pick an album for the group to listen to.

I think we should run this thread the same way, though I am fine with someone else possibly coming up with the first album as I am still searching for a suitable album we all can listen to.

Some more suggestions

Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica
Eno, Moebius, Roedelius - After the Heat (kind of electronic)
Jon Hassell - Aka/Darbari/Java: Magic Realism

Well we can do it differently instead of having a separate thread for voting on albums. Get suggestions from everyone and then since you are leading it. put them into a list and use a number randomizer out of the total suggestions and let faith decide.

I'd prefer to see Wpnfire picking an album. Then Jans, Briks, YD and so on. Much easier than this recommendation rigmarole.

Well it seemed like Wpnfire didn't really know where to start when picking his own album so now he has a few ideas at least!
